You’ve seen it. We’ve all seen it. Today I’m calling it out. It bugs me each and every time I see it–and, friends, I’ve seen it a lot. I’m talking of course about the way TV cooks shake little glass prep bowls above hot pans to get the last few drops of cooking oil out of them.
Stop it. Every time I see it my dad instinct tells me you’re going to drop it and it’s going to break and there’s going to be broken glass in your pan and whatever food you may have had in it is now too dangerous to eat and must be thrown out. So stop it.
What’s that? You aren’t going to drop it? You have a good grip on the little bugger? Oh, I feel so much better. Of course you won’t drop it. Who drops things? Nobody, that’s who. And I mean, it’s not like there’s anything near to hand that would make things extra slippery and hard to hold onto OILLLL!
For the love of all that is holy please get a squeeze bottle or something. Let me salvage what’s left of my frayed nerves and do not subject me to this any longer.
