To each and every US Representative and Senator who has repeated Trump’s lie about the election being stolen: Resign. Immediately.
I don’t believe for one moment that any of you are stupid enough to believe that the claims about election fraud are true. (But if I’m wrong and you really are that stupid, again–resign. You’re too dumb to hold a position of authority.)
You are trying to nullify an election because you don’t like the result. You are trying to retain a president who lost his reelection bid. You are trying to prevent the lawful inauguration of a duly elected president of the United States. What you are doing is attempting to break American democracy itself.
The most disgusting part of all is why you and your voters are doing this. It’s quite obvious. You just can’t tolerate a system in which black people get to choose who is president. It’s not a coincidence that the votes you challenge are the ones in swing state cities with lots of minority voters. You don’t want to count the votes of Milwaukee, Detroit, or Pittsburgh. The other votes are fine and completely non-fraudulent.
Even after years of watching Republicans suppress minority votes, this takes the cake. I mean, really.?Just throw out their votes? That is what the president is asking for. Just don’t count them. Because “fraud.” Or something.
You can’t bring yourself to say that this is what you’re doing, disenfranchising minority voters, but that’s exactly what you’re up to. This ridiculous “fraud” thing is an embarrassingly ineffective fig leaf. It fools absolutely no one while at the same time clearly indicates that you know what you’re doing is wrong because it needs a cover story.
You just can’t stand a system of government that would allow black people to choose a president. Even if that system is democracy. You’d rather have outright authoritarianism than see black votes count.
Shame on you, you racist fucks. You love keeping white men on top of society more than you love having a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. And for those of you who have maintained this disgusting charade even after the attack on the Capitol, you’re guilty of sedition. You are participating in a lie that has literally caused an insurrection.
I have never seen anything as un-American as what you are doing right now. You have broken your oath to uphold the Constitution and you have betrayed your country. You should never again be allowed to hold any elected office anywhere in the United States.
You should resign in shame immediately.
