When I first saw the M1 Mac reviews I was pretty stoked to say the least. I knew that I would replace my 2017 MacBook Air with one of these eventually, but probably not until later in the year. Today, however, I bit the bullet and ordered myself one. On or shortly after April Fool’s Day I will take delivery of:
13-inch MacBook Air
Apple M1 chip with 8‑core CPU, 8‑core GPU, and 16‑core Neural Engine
16GB unified memory
512GB SSD storage
Yes, I did opt for the extra GPU core, the 16GB RAM, and the 512GB storage, all of which are upgrades from the base configuration. All that adds up to $1,449. Which by Apple standards is not bad. When you throw in the $330 they’ll give me for trading in my old 2017 model Air, that’s just $1,119. So, shrug emoji.
I shall soon be living in the future.
